Oertli with solid 8.6% growth in Q3 2009

In the 3rd quarter of 2009 sales increased by 8.6% when compared with the same period of 2008. For the first 9 months of 2009 a growth rate of 7.7% results at constant currency exchange rates.

In European key markets growth continues to be in the two digit percent range and sales to Asia and Middle East were increased too, while the unfavourable exchange rate situation with Latin America does not allow growth. The number of surgeries carried out with Oertli surgical platforms did increase by 15% during the first 9 months. In vitreoretinal surgery the number of procedures increased even by 20%. In particular the Oertli NovitreX technology for VR surgery finds widespread acceptance and growing use.
