Higher efficacy, efficiency and safety with easyTip2.2mm!
12. Dez 2011
In a recently published article, Dr. Schriefl and Prof. Menapace (both Vienna) presented their results of a comparative study that determines the intraoperative efficacy and postoperative outcomes with the Oertli easyTip2.2mm compared to the 20G CMP tip.
By analysing this within-patient study, it came out that the easyTip2.2mm with its high fluidics concept shows a lower overall energy consumption, especially when conquering the nucleus. Nevertheless, the overall fluid consumption is just 12% higher. Despite these higher fluidic rates, the postoperative visual outcomes proved that doing a surgery with easyTip2.2mm does not affect the visual acuity or the endothelial cell loss in any negative way.
These points and the fact that the real phacoemulsification time is reduced, led to the conclusion that using the easyTip2.2mm with high fluidic rates is more efficacious and even safer than a general 20G CMP tip.
