Faros MAKING THE DIFFERENCE WITH POWER LED
The Faros is not cleared by the FDA for distribution in the United States. For more information on our FDA-approved surgical platform for the U.S. market, please click here.
The compact Faros is optionally available as a device for the anterior segment or as a combined system for both the anterior and posterior segments.
The unique SPEEP pump provides control over both vacuum and flow. The easyPhaco technology was developed for safe and efficient phacoemulsification. In countless cases, the HF capsulotomy tip is the ideal method for simple capsulorhexis.
The pneumatically driven Continuous Flow Cutter was developed for low-traction work in the periphery and the Power LED light source features state-of-the-art technology. The Faros also includes an integrated HFDS application for glaucoma surgery if required.
Make the difference – with the Faros by Oertli.
Efficient and highly effective
The Faros provides precision and a range of impressive benefits for cataract, glaucoma and retina surgery with the smallest of footprints. When surgeries are performed, there is no time to struggle with complex menu structures and cumbersome operating procedures. That is why the Faros surgical platform has been geared to absolute user-friendliness.
Features of the Faros
SPEEP® pump
The SPEEP pump uses the same principle as a peristaltic pump[1] to control the flow. SPEEP also allows the vacuum to be controlled with the foot pedal.
easyPhaco® technology
Fluidics based on physics. Thanks to Oertli's fluidics concept, easyPhaco allows a direct fragment followability and provides a strong fragment holdability.
HFDS®
HFDS stands for High Frequency Deep Sclerotomy. In micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), HFDS creates a direct access from anterior chamber to the Schlemm canal and further into the sclera.
The powerful pedal
The dual-linear foot pedal is the versatile control unit of the Faros. Manufactured from robust metal and precisely finished, the pedal responds to the surgeon’s commands without delay.
Perfect control of fluidics
Making best possible use of fluidics and physics has always been a distinct feature of Oertli that resulted in its establishment as an innovative leader in this sector of ophthalmology. The impressive fluidics system is no doubt one of the key elements for the exceptional performance of this platform.
Easy and safe operation
When surgeries are performed, there is no time to struggle
with complex menu structures and cumbersome operating
procedures. That is why the Faros surgical platform has
been geared to absolute user-friendliness.
Power LED technology
The Faros has a light source that provides homogeneous illumination and high durability thanks to its latest Power LED technology. The wide control range is an ideal combination with 3D microscopes, especially in case of low lumens.
Anterior & posterior segment device
The compact Faros is optionally available as a device
for the anterior segment or as a combined system for
both the anterior and posterior segments.
Infusion system
An important criterion during eye surgery is a stable intraocular pressure (IOP). To maintain this IOP, the Faros offers two options of infusion systems: the active as well as the gravity infusion.
