Sterile products: safe, simple, economical
As the safety of patients takes centre stage in ophthalmic surgery, Oertli has followed the uncompromising and economical route for years: sterile consumables.
The manufacturing site for sterile products that was finished in 2009 has an internal area of 600 m2 and offers conditions that have never been achieved with re-processing in a hospital environment. Sterile single-use products are therefore clearly superior to re-processed products with regard to hygiene, sterility and functionality and relieve OR personnel of a difficult responsibility.
But it also works well in terms of economic efficiency. The consistent use of sterile products removes the very high, mostly underestimated costs for cleaning, wrapping, sterilisation and transport. Processing time is no longer a problem. The preparation of instruments and accessories is clearly simplified. The products are always new and function immaculately.
