The Logistics Specialist EFZ apprenticeship, specialising in Warehousing, lasts three years. During this time, you will get to know the key areas of our logistics department, from goods receipt and warehouse management to order picking, internal transport, and shipping. You will gain insight into modern logistics systems and see how carefully planned material flows support both our production processes and the worldwide distribution of our products.
You play a part in keeping products moving that are used in eye surgery around the world. With us, you will gradually take on responsibility, work closely with experienced team members and receive support from your vocational trainer. You can look forward to being part of a young team, working in a modern environment and enjoying a friendly, family-like atmosphere.
Goods Receiving: This is where the flow of goods begins. You receive deliveries, check shipments for completeness and any damage, and prepare goods for storage. Along the way, you will learn how important careful work is right from the first step of the process. In addition, you will gain insight into purchasing activities and see how orders and deliveries are connected.
Warehouse Management: In warehouse management, you keep track of items, storage locations and inventory levels. You store goods, assist with stocktaking, maintain item information and learn how orders are prioritised efficiently.
Order Picking: In order picking, you assemble goods from different storage systems. You learn how to read orders accurately, select the correct items, and ensure that everything is fully prepared for the next step in the process.
Logistics Route: In the logistics route, you ensure that materials arrive where they are needed within the company. You support the supply of production and learn how the internal flow of goods is planned, recorded and carried out reliably.
Shipping: In shipping, you prepare picked orders for transport. You pack goods carefully, make them ready for dispatch and hand them over to the responsible freight forwarders. This gives you first-hand insight into how Oertli products begin their journey to customers around the world. In addition, you will gain insight into sales and learn how customer orders, shipping and on-time delivery work together.

Would you like to get to know the profession and day-to-day work first? During a taster placement, you will gain insight into our logistics department, get to know the team and experience different areas such as Goods Receiving, Order picking, Logistics route and Shipping.
Remo works as a Team Leader in Warehouse Logistics and is the vocational trainer for future Logistics Specialists EFZ. He supports you throughout your logistics apprenticeship, shares his expertise and places great importance on teamwork and respectful collaboration.
Remo lives with his wife and three children in the beautiful Appenzell region. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, whether mountain biking, hiking or skiing. It is the perfect way for him to balance his working day.
