The moment we’ve been waiting for is here: introducing the OS 4 Up – our new surgical platform for cataract and vitreoretinal surgery. Developed and manufactured in Switzerland, we created the OS 4 Up to give surgeons and OR teams the freedom, precision and flow to truly enjoy surgery.
Together with the Caliburn Trocar System and the Continuous Flow Cutter, the OS 4 Up brings innovations that are powerful on their own – and truly unbeatable when combined.
A suite of new features
Developed and manufactured in Switzerland, the OS 4 Up introduces a suite of new features, including the dynamic infusion concept that responds in real time to surgical dynamics. Operating with dynamic infusion enables surgeons to reduce IOP settings in anterior or posterior surgery closer to near-physiologic eye level. With PACS (Phaco Assisted Cataract Surgery), energy delivery is smooth and consistent – similar to a cruise control – ensuring controlled phacoemulsification independent of cataract grade.
Precision trocar placement and enhanced aspiration
The new Caliburn Trocar System enables controlled and continuous penetration force, allowing smooth and effortless insertion into the sclera. Its patented design supports a seamless transition from knife to bevelled cannula, aiding precise trocar placement. The new Continuous Flow Cutter provides 60% more aspiration in 23G *, supporting a smooth surgical flow, enabling an efficient pace from start to finish.
With these developments, we underline our commitment that surgeons and OR staff can enjoy surgery from start to finish with the freedom to operate on their individual terms.

Euretina
During Euretina you are invited to attend a live hands-on session in our dedicated Experience Center at booth #3.A11. You will have the opportunity to test-drive the OS 4 Up and the featured instruments in a supervised wetlab station. Additionally, you will experience the new solutions at various exploration stations, transforming the way you enjoy surgery.
ESCRS
At ESCRS, our Co-CEO Thomas Bosshard will unveil the trio with an unmissable Launch Premiere on Friday, 12th September at 1.30 pm at our booth #3.B30. Lead users will share their exclusive first-hand experiences with the new products during three Booth Talks. The OS 4 Up will take the centre stage at our ESCRS booth, which will feature a special exhibition setup called “The Walk”.
